The incumbent senator (R) voted against the two bills on public safety (SB 8 and HB 5) — as did Gregg Schmedes, Claudia’s opponent in this race. Schmedes also voted against HB 1 and SB 4, two critical bills that will help our state recover from this pandemic, as well as continue to protect the health of thousands of New Mexicans while preserving their right to vote.
